Most distant confirmed galaxy

The farthest confirmed galaxy is JADES-GS-z13-0, discovered by the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in December 2022. The galaxy is located at a light-travel distance of 13.2 billion light years, meaning astronomers are observing the galaxy as it appeared just 325 million years after the Big Bang. Due to the expansion of the universe, however, JADES-GS-z13-0 is now located at a proper distance of 33.6 billion light years from us.
