An ICON because...

Sir James Paul McCartney CH MBE is one of the most renowned and respected musicians of all time, best known as the bass guitarist and singer-songwriter (alongside John Lennon) in The Beatles.

Growing up in Liverpool, UK, McCartney found solace in singing and playing the guitar, a passion that later allowed him to shape the history of music with the help of his bandmates Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

In 1979, Guinness World Records recognized McCartney as the “most honoured man in music”, and his superlative legacy remains strong today with GWR titles such as the most US No. 1 singles by a songwriter (32) and the longest span of UK No. 1 singles (60 years 198 days).
