An ICON because...

One of the greatest players in the history of women’s soccer, Marta has followed the tradition of iconic Brazilian players to wear the No.10 shirt.

A quick and skillful playmaker, deadly in front of goal, she has scored more FIFA World Cup goals – 17 – than any other player, male or female.

In 2019, Marta became the first player to score at five different World Cup tournaments, a feat subsequently matched by Christine Sinclair and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marta’s influence has stretched far beyond the football field: a powerful voice on the importance of girls’ participation in soccer, she was appointed a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2018.
