Legoland attraction constructs enormous Lego flag with more 240,000 bricks to celebrate Canada Day

LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto has gone above and beyond to celebrate Canada Day 2018 by completing the Largest LEGO® brick flag.
Using 248,072 pieces, the centre showed built a massive 3.47 m (11 ft 7 in) tall x 6.46 m (21 ft 2 in) wide Canadian Flag.
Led by Canada’s only master model builder, Noel Straatsma, the record title utilized the talents of 10 builders, and required four days of construction.
The record-breaking flag is now hosted in the attraction for guests to marvel at and take photos with.
Canadians are now being given the opportunity to participate in the centre’s historic moment by purchasing a LEGO® brick for just $2, which will be positioned on a plaque near the record-breaking flag.
All proceeds from sales are being donated to child-focused charity, Merlin’s Magic Wand.
LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Toronto’s new title shatters the previous record held by Oman Avenues Mall, in Oman, 2.33 m (7 ft 7.7 in) tall and 4.12 m (13 ft 6.2 in) wide created last year.
