Lake Geneva Swimming Association

The Lake Geneva Swimming Association (LGSA) is globally recognized for authenticating open-water swims in Lake Geneva on the French-Swiss border. The LGSA facilitates and adjudicates swim attempts under the rules of the LGSA, and upholds the spirit of open-water marathon swimming, established and respected since the beginning of the sport. Notable swim routes include the iconic LGSA Signature, along the full length of Lake Geneva, and the LGSA Classique, traversing its width.

The fastest time to swim the length of Lake Geneva (male), from Chillon Castle in Veytaux to Bains des Pâquis in Geneva, is 22 hr 9 min 38 sec, achieved by Neil Gilson (UK) in Geneva, Switzerland, on 16–17 July 2024. This swim was ratified by the Lake Geneva Swimming Association.
