GWR starts search for London entertainment venue

Guinness World Records is on the hunt for a home for its first ever family entertainment and competitive socialising venue in London, offering visitors the chance to become legendary record breakers. The move into competitive socialising marks the latest diversification of the GWR business, having added TV production and business consultancy to its much-loved publishing arm, as it continues its evolution from publisher to global media & entertainment brand.
GWR has been producing and delivering live record-breaking experiences for over a decade – in holiday parks, at pop-ups in shopping malls, even on cruise liners - but this will be the company’s first bricks & mortar entertainment destination in the UK. As well as live record breaking, GWR VS London will give visitors the chance to find out more about GWR’s history and some of its most iconic record holders, as well as offering themed restaurants and retail.
We’re excited to be establishing our first permanent entertainment destination in the UK. We've taken everything attendees have told us they love about attempting records and our live events and weaved it all into a Guinness World Records experience that’s Officially Amazing. This will feel like you have stepped into the pages of our book with the added magic of potentially leaving as an official world record holder - Paul O’Neill, VP Entertainment at Guinness World Records
Fuelled by a pent-up desire for in-person experiences and interactions following the pandemic, competitive socialising has grown at unparalleled levels over the past five years, when it was in its relative infancy. The sector represents the biggest development the leisure industry has seen in decades, with brands like GWR contributing to the 455% uptick over the past five years in ‘combo’ attractions that offer activities alongside food and beverage.
