Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg gained global recognition as she brought awareness to the topic of climate change. She encouraged the world to adopt a greener lifestyle and urged political leaders to address the global emergency they had been ignoring for years.
At a young age, she founded the "Fridays for Future" movement, demanding stronger climate action and taking politicians accountable for their poor attention to climate issues.
Her impactful actions, as well as the speech at the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit, have earned her multiple accolades. Among them are several nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In 2019, at 16, she was nominated as TIME’s Person of the Year – the youngest person ever to receive the nomination.
Her work has been instrumental in amplifying youth voices and pushing climate change to the forefront of global political agendas.

I really hope it will show young people that they can also have an impact, and that they shouldn’t be discouraged to speak up because of their age.
