An ICON because...

Sir Elton John was destined for musical mastery from the age of three when he taught himself how to play “The Skater’s Waltz” on the piano.

At 11, he was awarded a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, and within 15 years of that, he skyrocketed to global stardom.

Throughout his sparkling six-decade career, Elton has sold more than 300 million records worldwide, given over 4,600 live performances and achieved several significant firsts.

Notably, on 7 June 1975, his ninth studio LP, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, became the first album to debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200. Elton also boasts impressive records, including the most no.1 songs (18), top 10 tracks (42) and entries overall (76) on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
