Minneapolis resident Diana Armstrong (USA) holds the record for the longest fingernails on a pair of hands ever (female). She sports kaleidoscopic nails that measure a whopping 1,306.58 cm (42 ft 10.4 in), and hasn't trimmed them since 1997.
Back then, Diana used to take care of her manicure with her 16-year-old daughter Latisha. The two shared a close-knit bond and, after Latisha's unexpected passing due to an asthma attack in her sleep, Diana vowed never to do her nails again.
Her unique manicure now honours the memory of her child, and is a testament to the precious moments they spent together.
Although she reportedly hasn't set foot in a saloon in the last 22 years, Diana keeps her hands tidy and colourful in the comfort of her home.
Taking care of her hands is a ritual that requires plenty of time and energy, and she shares it with her grandchildren. It takes them approximately four to five hours and more than a whole bottle of nail polish to paint one nail, for a total of over 20 bottles of nail polish.
