An ICON because...
In 2012, Dave Walsh began competing in able-bodied strongman leagues, but just two years later, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) after his arm went numb during a training session.
This left Walsh immobile from the waist down, wheelchair bound and unable to pursue his passion.
That was until 2016 when he came across videos of disabled strongman tournaments and realized he could continue his lifting journey as an adaptive athlete.
Walsh has been crowned both the World’s Strongest Disabled Man and Britain’s Strongest Disabled Man twice, and on 28 May 2023, secured his first GWR title with the heaviest wheelchair vehicle pull in Gloucester, UK, hauling a 9,360-kg truck for 17.5 m.
